Canada’s Cleantech Scene

Based in Toronto, MaRS Discovery District is the world’s largest urban innovation hub. MaRS works with over 1,000 ventures across four main sectors—energy & environment, work & learning, finance & commerce and health—accelerating their growth by providing connections to capital, talent and customers, as well as expert advice and market intelligence.

MaRS Energy & Environment aims to tackle climate change, resource scarcity and other global challenges by helping high-impact Canadian cleantech ventures succeed. With 13 Canadian companies on the recently announced 2018 Global Cleantech 100 list, Canada punches well above its weight on cleantech. MaRS has been at the forefront of helping to build the sector over the past decade, and continues to work closely with all players to grow companies that will help make the world a better place. Doing this requires building both exceptional companies, as well as a global collaboration network, including investors and customers and collaborators. Jane will talk about the MaRS model, opportunities within the Canadian cleantech economy, and opportunities for international collaboration.
